Joggers Size Guide: How to Measure & Pick the Right Size

Getting the right jogger size makes a huge difference in comfort. Too tight and they restrict movement; too loose and they look sloppy. This guide shows you exactly how to measure yourself and match those measurements to jogger sizes, with tips specific to organic cotton joggers.

How to Measure Yourself

You'll need a flexible measuring tape. Measure over lightweight clothing or underwear for the most accurate results.

  • Waist: Measure around your natural waistline, usually the narrowest part of your torso, about 1 inch above your belly button. Keep the tape snug but not tight. This is where the jogger waistband will sit.
  • Hip: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, usually about 7-8 inches below your waist. Stand with feet together.
  • Inseam: Measure from your crotch to where you want the jogger cuff to sit (usually at or just above the ankle bone). For the most accurate measurement, measure a pair of joggers or pants that fit you well.

Organic Cotton Sizing Tips

Organic cotton joggers have some specific sizing considerations:

  • Expect slight relaxation: Organic cotton may stretch slightly with wear during the day, then return to shape after washing. This is normal.
  • Cold wash to maintain size: Hot water causes cotton to shrink. If you follow our organic cotton care guide, your joggers should maintain their size through many washes.
  • Between sizes? If you're between sizes, most brands including Allwear recommend going with your usual size. The elastic waistband provides flexibility in either direction.
  • Compare to what you own: Measure a pair of joggers or sweatpants that currently fit you well and compare those measurements to the size chart.
